Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation Review

Hey all!

So I have been testing out the Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation for a few months now and I am ready to give a full review on this baby!

So lets start with the claims!
Dior claims this foundation is:

• weightless
• natural finish and natural-looking glow
• sun protection
• even-looking complexion
• enhances complexion
• radiant sheer finish

Dior states that the foundation is formulated with soft-focus agents and glazed pigments to even the complexion. It is also formulated with hyper oxygenated oil, cranberry oil, vitamin and minerals.

Fist let me say that I LOVE this foundation.
I completely disagree with the claim of a "sheer coverage" this foundation is the BOMB and the coverage is too!!
It is completely weightless and very buildable! I am the kind of person where my concealer is reserved for my under eyes and highlighting only. I just don't see the point in spending money on a foundation that can't cover blemishes and imperfections without concealer. That being said I understand sometimes we ladies have that huge blemish that can only be concealed with copious amounts of concealer, foundation, and powder but generally speaking I don't use concealer for things like that.
To preface the rest of the review I have dry to normal skin with no "dry or flaky patches."

That being said I was a little skeptical about this foundation being that it claimed to have sheer coverage and its a serum foundation. I just had to pick this up because I am a sucker for dior and it had great reviews online so I gave it a try.
So my first impression of the foundation is Wow! This is freaking cool!
So this is a very liquidy foundation as you would expect from a  serum foundation BUT it dries to a powder finish while still giving a very natural finish to the skin. It features a dropper which I love because I feel its more sanitary and less messy. I generally use about two drops of this foundation to cover my entire face and maybe half another drop to go over any pesky blemishes. That being said this will last you a long time.
The foundation is extremely buildable and no matter how many layers you put on this will look like skin. It never looks cakey or greasy on my skin either. I do not set this foundation seeing as I have dry skin an di never have any issues with transfer or it disappearing by the end of the day.

Seeing as I don't set this foundation powders such as blush, bronzer, and highlighters blend beautifully over it also. I use concealer under my eyes and around my face to highlight and it blends beautifully on top of the foundation also.

I love this foundation so much that I chose this for my wedding day! It lasted all day through the hugs, kisses, laughs, and eating. I knew I wanted a foundation with high coverage to where I didn't have to cake my face with multiple layers of products to cover my moderate acne and I also wanted to have a natural finish.

This foundation was absolutely perfect for my big day! I got so many compliments on my skin and my makeup that day and I felt radiant.

My favorite way to apply this is actually with a small poder brush. I love the real Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

 

 

This brush is perfect for applying this foundation. Its not expensive either which is a plus! its dense and small enough to get right near your hair line or around your eyes. It gives you a streak- free finish and is just perfect! Side note: I love real technique brushes they are very affordable and also high quality!

Cons:

limited shade range

 

 

The only bad thing I can say about this foundation is that they have a very limited shade range. If you normally wear the lightest shade in a foundation range im afraid dior doesn't have a foundation to match you, same goes for my dark skinned ladies. I feel like they skipped and entire shade range of women which is disappointing because that's an entire range of women that cant use the foundation!

Dior you need to get with it and expand your shade range!

 

Other than the lack of shades i would have to say the foundation is completely worth the $53 US that I paid for this foundation! I love it so much I have it in my winter (vampire pail ) shade and my summer ( glorious tan) shade :)

MAC Musthaves

I am a die-hard MAC Cosmetics fan! When i first started playing with makeup this was really the only high end brand i used! That being said i have used many of their products and have a few that are so worth the money!

I just want you all to know how difficult it was for me to narrow down my list to only 10! I love so many of their products but I decided to only include what I couldn't live without!

1. MAC Fix +

If you do not own this you need to run to your nearest MAC store and purchase this ASAP. I love this product!!! This bottle has so many uses its insane! you can use this to moisturize your skin, prime your skin for makeup, set your makeup, sheer out your foundation, give your favorite foundation a dewy finish, and even intensify your eyeshadows. Those are only a few uses and i swear every time i get on the internet i find a new use! This is so worth the money! If you could only purchase one item from this list i would say it needs to be this one!

2. MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation

When they say waterproof they mean it! i have worn this to work out, in the rain, in just about any situation you would think water could ruin your foundation and it never budged! I don't even set this foundation and it lasts all day! Now I do have normal to dry skin and this is more of a skin like finish, I would not say this is matte in any way BUT that does not mean you cannot set this to make it a matte finish! i just love this the coverage is amazing i only need one coat to cover my redness and acne. 

3. Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle

MAC Soft and Gentle is the most beautiful natural highlight shade i have ever seen! If you want a highlight that doesn't look like you came from a disco party then this is for you! This highlight is so creamy it melts into your skin and gives you  that "Glowing from within" look! I get compliments on my skin every time i were this.

4. Mac Pro Longwear Foundation

This was my first love with MAC. This has a matte finish but does not cling to any dry patches you may have and will keep you shine free for hours! Mac claims this product is a medium coverage but i would say its a full coverage! I love this for days i want a matte finish or need lots of coverage. My fair skinned ladies will appreciate the color range also! I love this so much i have gone through like 6 bottles in the last two years! If you ladies are like me going through an entire bottle of foundation is crazy! I love makeup so i have so many foundations on hand that i rarely use the same one even three times a week BUT i use this one so much i just keep going back to it.

5. MAC Cremesheen Lipsticks

All Mac lipsticks are just amazing but this formula has to be my very favorite! I am not a huge fan of the matte lip movement that has been going around. I think matte lips look great but they are not very functional for my every day life! This formula is exactly as it sounds! It is so creamy and pigmented and won't dry out your lips! I love that this formula has more of a velvet finish which means its not exactly matte but it doesn't have any sort of sheen to it. T he one thing i really don't like about matte lips is if you have dry lips like i do, even if i moisturize and exfoliate before, the lipstick clings the cracks in my lips or any peeling skin. The amazing party about this formula is its moisturizing and will not cling to those parts of your lips! 

6. MAC Powder Blush in Peachykeen

Can we take a moment to admire this gorgeous blush!! I absolutely love this color! It looks fantastic on every skin tone and it blends like a dream! Going through and entire blush pan is crazy considering how much is in it and how many i have but i have repurchased this bad boy THREE times guys!! It is so worth it!

7. MAC Honey Lust Eyeshadow

This is my favorite eyeshadow EVER! I have repurchased this THREE times already! i use it just about every day! this is gorgeous all over the lid! It is just shimmery enough to wear every day but also gorgeous to glam up any eye look! i love to spray my brush with some Mac Fix + and then use this eyeshadow it just intensifies the shimmer! 

8. MAC Eyeshadow in Nylon

This is the most beautiful highlight shade ever! this is gorgeous to highlight your inner corners or your brow bone! unfortunately this is a pro only color which means it can only be purchased online or at pro stores BUT you do not have to be a "pro" to purchase! It is absolutely gorgeous!

9. MAC Eyeshadow in Wedge

This is the perfect transition color!! if you love a good smoky eye you need this! I have already hit pan on this and need to purchase another one ASAP!

10. MAC Eyeshadow in Swiss Chocolate

Does this not look just like chocolate? if only it smelled like chocolate but we can image it does. Any way this shade is gorgeous on the lid!! i love using this with my smoky looks or on its on in the crease!!

So there you have it those are my must haves from MAC Cosmetics! I love Mac for many reasons, not only are their products amazing and such high quality BUT they always have free shipping online, their customer service is top notch, and they offer the Back to Mac program!

If you aren't familiar with he Back to Mac program basically they take back all your empty containers and give you a free lipstick in exchange! 

Yep i said FREE lipstick for your empties!!

Now they only take certain containers so check out the website for which ones stye are, when yo get a new product check the packaging it'll ally say "Back 2 Mac" on the inside. 

I have gotten three lipsticks for free so far just by doing this its great!!

Top 10 High End Cosmetics That Are Worth The Money

So i have compiled my top 10 high end cosmetics that are totally worth the splurge!
**Disclaimer I was not paid to make this list everything was bought with my own money**

1. MAC Fix +

When I say I use this every day I mean it! 

This is the most important product I have! 

It's got so many uses! You can use this to prime your face for makeup or to set your makeup. I use this mostly for my eyeshadows though! If you spray this on your brush before applying your eyeshadow you get a mor roughened application! This seriously makes or breaks my eyeshadow application I am not joking!!

2. Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer

My dry skinned ladies will LOVE this! I use this after my actual moisturizer and before my actual primer. Now this is an extra step and you can use this alone as a primer ( which I do sometimes and it works just as well). I just love how this makes my skin look and feels! This contains coconut extract which does wonders for you skin! 

3.Ofra Cosmetics Silk Peptide Foundation

Okay I won't stay long on this one. If you read my latest blog you know this is a new favorite for me! This foundation is amazing! The coverage is amazing but still looks natural. This looks the most like real skin then any other foundation I've ever tried! 

4.Josie Maran 100 % Argan Oil Light

So here is another for my dry skinned ladies!! I love to use this with my foundation. So basically all you do is mix it on the back of your hand with your favorite foundation and then apply it to your face. It helps keep your skin moisturizer and will also help thicken any runny foundation you have! You can also use this as a moisturizer too! 

5.Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

If you want a very glowing look then you need this!! I love how pigmented Becca's highlights are! The shade opal is perfect for my fair to medium skin tones ladies and will give you this beautiful glow! Now I reach for this when I want a more intense highlight. 

6.Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle

Mac soft and gentle is a staple for any makeup fanatic! This is such a gorgeous highlight and does give more of a natural glow to the skin! I reach for this when I want more of a natural look that day where as I would want to reach for the Becca if I'm going full glam. And I have no idea how they did it but I think this smells like the name( I know im not the only one who smells their products lol). If you have it or plan to purchase it just smell it you'll see what I mean. 

7.Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer

Talk about weightless coverage! Urban Decay has out done themselves with this concealer! I use this under my eyes and to highlight my face and it's perfect! It blends like a dream and never creases under my eyes! 
8.Mac Lipstick in Hue

This is the PERFECT nude for my Paulette skinned toned ladies!! Not to mention if you have dryer lips you'll love this! It's a creamy texture so it won't dry out your lips like matte shades! This is just the most gorgeous peachy nude shades I've ever found! It's a must! 

9.Younique Precision Brow Liner

I'm telling you not only is this better than the Anastasia brow wiz but it's CHEAPER!! I'm always looking to save money where I can especially when it works better! The only down size is the color selection is much smaller but I do feel like it would work for a large range of brow colors. The spoolie is perfect for taming my brows and the pencil itself is perfect for perfectly sculpting my brows! The formula of this is just amazing so worth the money! 

10.Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Okay now this is my FAVORITE mascara! Nothing beats it! My lashes look amazing when I use it!! Even with the shortest of lashes your lashes will look long and voluminous without getting clumpy! You just go wrong with it! Just buy it you won't regret it!
